EXPANDED CLAY
- Expanded clay is a material manufactured industrially from natural raw clay. After several modifications and preparations, the final result is balls or blocks made from clay balls. It is a fairly heavy material with a density ranging from 300 to 700 kg / m3.
- Other names: also known under the terms fired clay from pebbles, hydrocorns, laterite, or more simply “clay balls”. Expanded shale is a variant of clay obtained by firing suitable shales used in construction.
- Use: it has very good sound insulation qualities, it acts effectively against airborne noise and impact noise. However, these skills are fairly average in terms of thermal insulation. this product has very good durability, is waterproof and resists fire, corrosives and insect attacks.
We can use it in:
- construction (concrete and mortars: refractory, lightening, thermal insulation),
- infrastructure,
- water treatment,
- the pot and the plants,
- animal husbandry and hydroponics.
