GRANITE

Coarse-textured plutonic rock rich in quartz, which contains more alkali feldspar than plagioclase. It is characterized by its constitution in minerals: quartz, potassium feldspars (orthoses) and plagioclases, micas (biotite or muscovite).

Other names: It is also known under the term of granitoids

Use: When it is not altered, constitutes a good material of construction, even of decoration after polishing.
